The Nabakalebara Rath Yatra festival celebration mostly occurs every 12 to 19 years when one lunar month of Ashada (June/July is followed by another lunar month of extra Aashada Month in a calendar year (Lunar leap year) Nabakalbara, derived from Sanskrit words "Naba" or new and "Kalebara" or body, means "Formation of New Idols of Deities" i.e. replacing of Lord Balabhadra, Lord Jagannath and Goddess Subhadra Devi with New Idols made from Neem (Margosa) wood. This year 2015 happens to be such a Lunar Year.
