WhatsApp desktop app launches for Windows and Mac: Here’s how to useMumbai, May 11(AZINS) A desktop app version of WhatsApp comes to PC’s running Microsoft's Windows 8 (or higher) and Apple's Macintosh computers running OS X 10.9+ (or higher).

Until now, WhatsApp was only available on PCs and Mac computers via an Internet browser.

Here’s how to download WhatsApp desktop app for Window PCs and Mac computers:

1) Click here to visit WhatsApp's official website

2) Click on ‘Mac OS X 10.9 and higher’ or ‘Windows 8 and higher’, depending on which system you are using.

3) Once the download is finished, click on the WhatsAppSetup.exe file and complete the installation.

4) Click on the app icon and scan the QR code with your smartphone to sync the mobile version of your WhatApp to the desktop version of the app.

5) Start chatting :)

Users should keep in mind that like the mobile version, users will need a constant Internet connection for the app to work

With the app version of WhatApp, users will no longer need to have to keep an extra tab opened in their web browser.
