Jon Snow and Bran Stark are back in teaser for 'Game of Thrones' season 6Dec 4(AZINS) "We watch, we listen and we remember."

HBO dropped the first teaser for season six of Game of Thrones on Thursday night, giving more fuel to fan's hope that Jon Snow may indeed be alive.

The teaser begins with the voice of the Three-Eyed Raven talking to Bran Stark and we see Jon Snow (!) standing in the cold.

While season five of the series ended with brutal stabbing of Snow, fans have been debating its fatality for the better part of the year. For a character that showrunners insist is dead, the teaser spends an inordinate amount of time making us look at Jon Snow, who in turn is looking at Hardhome. Yes, the clip of Snow is from season five of the show, but it still does little to quell speculation that Snow is indeed alive.

From Snow, the teaser segues into a quick montage of the high voltage moments from the last five seasons of the series, or what viewers would probably call a supercut of 'WTF moments'. Jon Snow being stabbed, Ned Stark's beheading, Joffrey's poisoning, Arya going blind, the Red Wedding, Jamie Lannister's hand being chopped off, Cersei's walk of 'shame' and the Battle with the White Walkers at Hardhome.

We then hear Bran say, "They have no idea what's going to happen." This is partially true for readers and viewers of the series this time. The show has run through the material in George RR Martin's books and with season 6 we wander into uncharted territory.

Of course, Game of Thrones fandom is rife with theories of where the series is heading and the possible storylines the new season will explore, one of the popular ones being the R+L=J theory. We can be sure that this season will see the return of Bran Stark, Hodor and Meera Reed. Season four ended with Bran finally meeting the Three-Eyed Raven. We can assume the new season will pick up where it left him and will see him develop his greensight and warging abilities. As a result, we might see the show delve into back stories of the Stark family.

With the larger role the White Walkers came to assume in the last season, it's possible battle lines may be drawn this time. The Greyjoys, mostly absent in the last season, will also have a bigger presence in this one.

Martin's highly anticipated Winds of Winter, the sixth book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series, will also release next year. There is no telling whether this will be before the show comes back on air.

Game of Thrones season six is scheduled to air on HBO in April 2016.

We watch, we speculate and we wait.
