Fantastic Beasts: JK Rowling reveals American term for 'muggles'Nov 5(AZINS) With the unveiling of new images of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, author JK Rowling has also revealed new information regarding the humans in the series and what to call them.

Yes, the American humans who have no magical powers are called 'No-Maj' as in people with 'no magic.' The characters will use this shorthand frequently in the movie, reports Entertainment Weekly.

JK Rowling, who wrote the screenplay of Fantastic Beasts, has introduced numerous new words with this prequel to the Potter Universe.

Set to release on December 18, 2016, the movie will feature adventures of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) as he finds and catalogues the magical creatures to turn into the encyclopaedia with the title, later used by Harry Potter and friends at Hogwarts.

This new word is providing fuel to the everlasting debate of English and 'American English'. As it is we were confused with chips, cookies, pavement, jumpers and what have you.

No matter how much you have struggled to come to terms with the fact that you are a muggle and that a Hogwarts invitation is not coming for you, your strength will fall short when you realise there is a possibility of you being called something else because you don't live in the UK.
