'King Kong vs. Godzilla' in development?Los Angeles, Sep 11 (AZINS) Legendary Pictures reportedly wants to make a “King Kong vs. Godzilla” movie as the production house is moving "Kong: Skull Island" from Universal Studios to Warner Bros.

The studio move is an effort to keep the gigantic beasts under the same distributor so that things will be easier to do. The crossover movie is happening very quickly with moves going all the way to Japan, where Godzilla rights holder Toho is based, reports deadline.com.

Though there is no deal between Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros, "Skull Island" keeps moving forward and now is in the pre-production stage. The details of the film are still scarce, but sources said that the story would be set in the mysterious, dangerous home of the king of apes as a team of explorers ventures deep inside the island.

Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston and Corey Hawkins are part of the cast.

Other names such as Jason Mitchell, Toby Kebbell, Samuel L. Jackson, John C. Reilly and Tom Wilkinson are also being considered to star in the movie. Set to feature the original story of Kong, "Skull Island" is scheduled to be released on March 10, 2017.
