First ever Jain Temple in US set for inauguration in the Valley.
Jain Community Gets Ready to Inaugurate Magnificent New Jain Temple.
 
 
The first ever Jain Temple in USA to have all 24 Jain Tirthanker (Bhagwan or lord) idols with Anjansalaka/Ankanyas ceremony performed on them is coming up in Valley of the Sun. This magnificent temple will be inaugurated with first ever Shri Jinbimb Panch Kalyanak Pratistha Mahotsav in the USA on December 20-26, 2008.
 
After Shilanyas or foundation stone laying ceremony on October 26-28, 2007 construction on Jain Temple is progressing at rapid pace. Construction of temple started in April 2008 and in 6 months of record construction time the Jain Temple will be ready by December with all the Indian architecture. Today you can see temple’s dome while driving down on Southern avenue in south phoenix. The Jain Temple located at 6250 S 23rd Ave Phoenix AZ 85041 will be inaugurated with a 7 day long celebrations or Pratishtha Mahotsav. To witness this remarkable event people are coming from all over the world.
 
The Panch Kalyanak (five auspicious events in life of Tirthankar or lord) Mahotsav will be held at J W Marriott Resort and Spa at Desert Ridge. At the end of event, all 24 Jain Tirthankar Bhagwan will be installed at temple along with Mahavir Bhagwan and Adinath Bhagwan (51” Idols).  The 12000 sq ft temple will also house pictures of gurus (spiritual teachers) and marble carving depicting Jain religious places in India. The temple complex will consists of a majestic arch of pink sandstone (Toran Dwar), 41 feet tall Ahimsa Stambh (Non violence monument) made of white marble and beautiful desert landscaping along with towering temple with traditional temple architecture. The temple will have pillar carved in India and beautiful “jalis” in patio or in exterior. The interior of temple will be white marble with beautiful medallions in between.
 
150 Jain families in the valley of sun are eagerly waiting for the Pratistha event. Several religious teachers and gurus from India are expected to attend and bless the event. Bal Brahmchari Pratisthacharya Shri Abhinandanji, Pundit Ashok Luhariya and Shri Narendra Nandu from India will conduct 7 day long event.
 
Starting with Bhoomi poojan in July 2005 and Shilanyas in October 2007 the temple is taking shape and promises to be a landmark of Indian community in the valley. Several events have been held this year to mark the milestones in construction of temple. The groundbreaking ceremony was held in April 2008, the beam naming ceremony was held in July 2008 and Vedi (Altar) Shilanyas was celebrated in August 2008.
