After 'Brahmastra', Shahid Kapoor's 'Jersey' shoot suspended 'to curb the spread of coronavirus'
Bollywood has taken a hit because of the spread of coronavirus with shoots getting cancelled and releases getting postponed. Now, Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor has announced that the team of his upcoming film Jersey has decided to suspend the shoot of the film to curb the spread of the virus. 

The actor took to his Twitter account to share the news with his fans and followers. He wrote, "At a time like this it is our social responsibility to do everything in our capacity to curb the spread of this virus. Team #Jersey is suspending shoot so as to enable all unit members to be with their families and in the safety of their homes. Be responsible. Stay safe."

Shahid had a blockbuster 2019 with the release and success of Kabir Singh, a remake of Arjun Reddy. The actor after that started shooting for Jersey, a Hindi remake of a Telugu hit of the same name which chronicles the story of a talented but failed cricketer, who decides to return to the field in his late thirties driven by the desire to represent the Indian cricket team.

In an interview with PTI, a source close to the production said that the team called off the shoot "and have decided to take a gap for the next 2-3 weeks". In addition to Shahid, the film also features Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur and is slated to be released in August.

For the uninformed, the deadly virus which originated in China’s Wuhan city in December last year has infected more than 134,000 globally. The number of novel coronavirus cases in India rose to 93 on Sunday.
