The Kabir Khan directorial '83 is one of the most awaited films of this year and is already touted to be the biggest sports film of 2020. 

The film chronicles the iconic win of India in the 1983 World Cup. Actor Ranveer Singh will essay the role of then-captain Kapil Dev and today, on the occasion of the legend's birthday, the actor has shared some special gems from their sessions together while the filming of '83. 

With an uncanny young Kapil Dev look, Ranveer, the reel life captain wished the real-life legendary cricketer Kapil Dev on his birthday. 

The actor posted three pictures on his social media and captioned it saying, “Happy Birthday, Legend! Thank you for showing us the way  You made us proud. A  little while back, Ranveer’s first look for the film was revealed and his uncanny resemblance to Kapil Dev broke the internet and the fans went gaga over the look. 

The film stars Ranveer playing the iconic Kapil Dev among others including Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, Chirag Patil as Sandeep Patil, meanwhile Deepika Padukone will be seen in a cameo avatar playing Romi Dev, Kapil Dev's wife.

‘83 has a huge ensemble cast and an exciting one. The film is being co-produced by Madhu Mantena, Sajid Nadiadwala, Deepika Padukone, and Reliance Entertainment. It is slated to hit the screens on 10 April 2020.
