Railway court frames charges against Sunny Deol and Karisma Kapoor in 1997 chain-pulling case
22 years since Bollywood actors Sunny Deol and Karisma Kapoor pulled the chain of a train, the railyway court has framed charges over them. The actors, according to a report on The Hindu, pulled the chain on Naraina Railway Station in Rajasthan during the shooting of one of their movies.

Karisma and Sunny Deol have further challenged the railway court in a sessions court. They submitted a revised petition on Wednesday. The actors reportedly entered the station with their stuntman Tinu Verma and Satish Shah. They then stopped 2413-A Uplink Express back in 1997 by pulling its emergency chain.

The chain-pulling caused delay of 25 minutes to other passangers travelling. Karisma, Sunny and their team was shooting for the movie Bajrang at Sanvarda village near Phulera in Jaipur. The assistant station master lodged the complaint in which he stated that few people from Mumbai who came for shooting a movie illegally stopped the train.

Sunny and Karisma have been accused of violating Sections 141 (needlessly interfering with the means of communication in a train), 145 (drunkenness or nuisance), 146 (obstructing a railway servant in his duties) and 147 (trespass and refusal to desist from trespass) of the Railways Act.

The next hearing for the case is on September 24. The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (Railways) has summoned three witnesses for the same. The revised petition by Karisma and Sunny's counsel stated that despite the charges framing out in 2009, the railway court framed charges for the second time. The September 17 order, according to the revised petition, was against the law.
