'The Zoya Factor's 'Lucky Charm': Catchy tune only saving grace of Dulquer Salmaan-Sonam Kapoor's mindless song
As Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan's The Zoya Factor trailer was unveiled a few days back, the makers also gave us a glimpse into the first song which they have now revealed. The song, titled 'Lucky Charm', is nothing but a series of mindless visuals with a catchy tune.

Giving us yet another insight into how Zoya Solanki, played by Sonam Kapoor, is a 'lucky charm' for Indian cricket team since birth (which most definitely is a far-fetched superstition), this song takes us to the journey of how Zoya becomes an important part of Indian cricket team (without being a player, obviously) thanks to 'sheer luck'.

Dulquer Salmaan, just like The Zoya Factor trailer, is quite a delight to watch in the song. His confused state of mind, and happiness on seeing Sonam, is just too adorable to miss. However, the tunes of 'Lucky Charm' are the real winner. Vocals by Raghuvir Yadav and Shankar Mahadevan with backing vocals by Tipu, Swaroop Khan and Ravi Mishra do its magic. Banjo/Mandolin by Tapas Roy on instructions of music composer trio Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy also play a part into making the song a bit bearable. Amitabh Bhattacharya's lyrics, even though fun, are nothing but words wrapped up, promoting the culture of mindless superstition which India has been suffering from anyway.

The Zoya Factor is an unusual story of Zoya Solanki who is an advertising agent becoming a lucky charm for the Indian cricket team when she chances upon meeting the captain of the team Nikhil Khoda and how it starts raining luck ever since. Directed by Abhishek Sharma, and produced by Fox Star Hindi, the film is slated to release on 20th September 2019.
