Did Deepika Padukone's throwback photo just reveal her role in Chhapaak?Jan 17 (AZINS) Deepika Padukone has often been imagined in the royal empire but she is all set to leave another kind of impact on people this time. The actress has chosen to work in a story about an acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal, in a film titled Chhapaak.

Set to be directed by Raazi helmer Meghna Gulzar, Deepika had called the film "A story of trauma and triumph. And the unquashable human spirit." The actress has now shared a throwback photo from her own school, and to our surprise, she has also tagged the film Chhapaak in the post.

She wrote, “back to school... #Chhapaak” which hinted that the actress might be playing a school girl in the film. This would be the first time Deepika has taken such a role. She has never played a student, let alone playing a school girl.

The actress has often supported social causes and has a foundation Live Love Laugh which deals with depression patients. Yesterday she unveiled a book on awareness titled ‘The Dot That Went For A Walk’ in a loud pink and red outfit.

Deepika, who recently got married to her boyfriend of six-years Ranveer Singh, seems to have taken style inspiration from him but we love it anyway! The now-husband is extremely proud of her project, which will talk about the incident where Laxmi was attacked at the age of 15, and later gained the strength to become an Indian campaigner with Stop Acid Attacks and a TV host. However the photo which Deepika shared is of a much-younger self. Does it mean that the movie will date from Laxmi’s birth till what she is in the current scenario? Guess we will have to wait and watch…
