IND vs AUS: BCCI provides update on Shikhar Dhawan's injury to left shoulder

Team India opener Shikhar Dhawan had an injury struck 2019 and looks like his 2020 did not start too well as he was forced off the field after hurting his left shoulder during the third and final ODI match between India and Australia on Sunday in Bengaluru.

Dhawan, in his attempts to save runs, dived to save an Aaron Finch shot and ended up landing uncomfortably on his left shoulder in the fifth over.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also provided an injury update on Dhawan.

BCCI's official Twitter accounted tweeted saying that the 34-year-old has been taken to the hospital for an X-Ray and a further decision will be taken when he returns after the scan.

"Update: Shikhar Dhawan has gone for an X-Ray. A call on him being available for the game will be taken once he is back & assessed #TeamIndia #INDvAUS," the Tweet read.

The three-match series is currently locked at 1-1 and the ongoing match will decide the winner.

The series did not start on a good note for India as they were thrashed by ten wickets. But India made a strong comeback in the second as they thrashed the visitors by 36 runs.

India put up a good batting show in the previous game and scored a mammoth total of 340 for 6. The bowlers, who had gone wicketless in the first ODI, bounced back by bowling out the visitors for 304.
