Apple’s Music Memos lets musicians quickly capture and develop song ideasMumbai, Jan 21(AZINS) Apple announces a major new app targeted at musicians called Music Memos. This free app is aimed at making it easy for musicians to quickly capture musical ideas that can later evolve into full-fledged tracks.

The app lets songwriters and musicians use an iPhone to capture, organize and develop musical ideas by incorporating musician-friendly features designed specifically for songwriting and fleshing out musical ideas.

Music Memos lets users record any musical instrument via the iPhone’s built-in microphone in a high-quality uncompressed audio format, then subsequently name, tag and rate it before adding it into a library of such musical ideas. The app is able to analyze acoustic features like rhythm and chords of a guitar and piano, then automatically embellish it with drums and a bass line to deliver a virtual--and customizable--backing band to match the feel of the original song. The app is also able to provide basic notation including the chords that were played.

“Sometimes ideas come faster than I can get them into my notebook so I've used Voice Memos and Notes to quickly capture songs before they're lost. Music Memos is like if those two apps came together to form some kind of superpower for songs,” said Ryan Adams, critically acclaimed singer-songwriter and producer.

“It quite literally blew my mind how Music Memos could transform a single guitar idea into a whole composition with a virtual drummer loose enough that it felt like you were having your mind read by some A.I. musician and a choice of stand-up or electric bass accompaniments,” he said.

In conjunction with iCloud, music created in the app is automatically synchronized across your Apple devices enabling work on them to be resumed in apps like GarageBand or Logic Pro X.
