Cinematographer Nadeem Khan on ventilator and not responding, confirms wife Parvati
Nadeem Khan, a popular cinematographer, who underwent brain surgery after suffering a fall from the stairs, is in a critical condition and is on ventilator, confirmed his wife Parvati. He was admitted to Lilavati hospital in Bandra on Tuesday at 2 am after suffering injuries on head, shoulder and chest.

"He is in the ICU, he is on a ventilator. He is still unconscious. Basically they (doctors) are just waiting and watching right now for 48 to 72 hours for the patient to respond. Right now he is not responding," Parvati told PTI.

Parvati went on to state that the delay in treatment caused the condition to worsen. Khan could not be treated due to the current coronavirus situation. "When we came, the injury was not that bad, it was a small injury and it expanded," she said.

The doctors were waiting for COVID-19 results, which she claims took a lot of time. "He has been in lockdown for two months, he has not met anyone. He has been in complete isolation. They could have done a rapid test on him and done the emergency surgery, they delayed the entire procedure," Parvati exclaimed, adding, "The only trouble is that non COVID-19 emergencies should be looked into at the earliest. People can't be dying or pushed away from the hospital."

Nadeem worked on movies like Disco Dancer, Zamana, Aandhi-Toofan, Aag Hi Aag, King Uncle and Gunaah. He had also directed 1998 movie Tirchi Topiwale featuring Chunky Pandey, Inder Kumar and Monica Bedi in lead roles.
