'Gangubai Kathiawadi': Alia Bhatt to learn cuss words in Hindi, Marathi for her role
Alia Bhatt has kickstarted the shoot of her forthcoming film titled Gangubai. In the film, the talented actor plays the titular role of Gangubai Kathiawadi, a brothel owner and matriarch. The film is based on the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai written by Hussain Zaidi. The film is being helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and it's her first outing with the filmmaker. The shooting for the film started in Mumbai over the Christmas week in 2019.

Now as per reports in The Times of India, for Gangubai, Alia will be learning new dialect and she will also be learning cuss words in Hindi and Marathi. The portal also reported that the character is a culture shock for the actor as she will be donning a never-seen-before avatar for it.

The male lead for Gangubai has not been announced yet but reports have, Ajay Devgn is likely to play the part. Talking about it, a source had told Bollywood Hungama, "Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Leela Bhansali met at Anand Pandit’s Diwali party and chatted for hours. They caught up on a lot of stuff and that’s when SLB also invited him over to his office. Ajay dropped in a couple of days after that and they had a meeting for more than a couple of hours. Bhansali offered him two scripts – a biopic and the other fictional, a love story, which is said to be Baiju Bawra. In Baiju Bawra the actor was offered the role of Tansen. Ajay liked his role in Gangubai as it’s an intense character – a mobster with a golden heart who teaches Gangubai the tricks of the trade and falls in love with her."
