Emraan Hashmi's 'Mumbai Saga's first look out: Here's how he bulked up in 6 weeks
Mumbai Saga set to star John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi in lead roles, is based in the 1980s and 90s. While John will essay the role of a gangster, Emraan will be seen as a cop for the first time on the big screen. The actor's first look has been unveiled, and he reportedly worked out twice as hard to bulk up for the role.

Hindustan Times quoted sources saying, "When the actor met Sanjay Gupta 2 months back, the director offered him the role of a cop for which he had to bulk up in order to look convincing in front of actors like John Abraham who is known for his physique."

At the time, Emraan was reportedly shooting for Ezra and was not able to work out for the new project. But with determination and clear instructions to his team, the actor achieved the physique for Mumbai Saga by working out twice a day and going on a proper diet, in just a month and a half. Emraan also commented on the film and told the entertainment portal, "After being an outlaw in so many films, it feels really great to be on the other side of the law. l worked hard on my physique because I knew it was important to acquire of fuller frame for my part."  

The film is directed and presented by Sanjay Gupta and Bhushan Kumar. It will talk about how Bombay became Mumbai and the change in power during the time. From politicians and cop conflict, underworld and business fraternity to the murder of a key businessman, all that changed Mumbai's landscape.

Apart from John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi, the film will also see Kajal Aggarwal, Jackie Shroff and Suniel Shetty in pivotal roles. Produced by T-Series and White Feather Films, Mumbai Saga is slated to release on June 19, 2020.
