25 years of 'FRIENDS': Ahead of silver jubilee, iconic couch from the show heads to India much to the excitement of fans
On September 22, 1994, six people came made their way into the world of sitcom and made people around the globe fall in love with them instantly. They stayed for 10 long years and told fans in some or the other way 'I'll be there for you'. Yes, we are talking about the best American sitcom Friends (also known as F.R.I.E.N.D.S). The show had Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer playing the lead roles as Rachel Green, Monica Geller, Phoebe Buffay, Joey Tribbiani, Chandler Bing and Ross Geller respectively.

On Sunday, the show will be completing 25 years of its airing and it will be amongst the most loved show for many more years to come. Though it's an US-based show, FRIENDS has a huge fan base in India as well. To make the Indian fans happy, a popular channel which airs FRIENDS on TV decided to bring the iconic couch to the country. Yes, the orange sofa is currently travelling across the country and it was launched in Mumbai about a week back.

Talking about it, Ferzad Palia, Head – Youth, Music & English Entertainment, Viacom18 stated in a statement, "Despite the comedy’s emotional finale many years ago, Comedy Central has kept the connection with fans alive, while continuing to attract newer generations to this ageless show. Friends is one of the most revered shows in television history and we’re constantly piquing the interest of fans through innovative programming, on-ground activities and social media banter, reinvigorating the spirit of the show in its huge fanbase."
