After introducing us to the world of KGF and bringing Kannada superstar Yash to Bollywood, the makers had begun shooting for the second installment of the film titled KGF: Chapter 2. The new chapter would also introduce Sanjay Dutt as Adheera.

However trouble has come in the way of Yash and Sanjay Dutt's KGF: Chapter 2. The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court in Kolar Gold Fields passed an interim order to stop KGF: 2's shooting. The movie was being shot at Cyanide Hills.

Srinivasa, a local resident was responsible for filing a petition that declared the makers were causing environmental damage while shooting the film. After the case hearing, the court passed interim to stop filming. The makers of the film have not reacted to the news yet.

Director Prashant Neel had begun shooting after huge sets were erected in Kolar Gold Fields. The movie, produced by Excel Entertainment, was expected to release around summer of 2021. KGF: Chapter 1 was filmed in Kannada and dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. The same is expected to take place with KGF: 2.
