Ram Charan was recently in news for his 2018 release Rangasthalam. While on one side the movie was criticized, it also received various awards. Ram Charan too was awarded best actor award at SIIMA and the honourary National Awards.

The actor's 2019 release Vinaya Vidheya Rama was a washout at the Box Office. Ram Charan however has turned producer for the mega project Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy starring Chiranjeevi, Amitabh Bachchan, Kiccha Sudeep, Nayanthara, Tamannaah Bhatia, Jagapathi Babu, Ravi Kishan and Niharika in the lead roles.

As the teaser of the film was unveiled at an event in Mumbai today, Ram went on to speak about this project and his upcoming film RRR. He went on to state that RRR would be his comeback film. "I have only produced this film, not acted. I am not shying away from acting in films, I was waiting to be a part of good content. My next film is RRR and it will be my comeback," said the actor.

RRR, directed by Baahubali helmer SS Rajamouli would star Jr. NTR in the lead role with Ram Charan. Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt have also been roped in for the project. Alia would play Ram Charan's love interest in the film. On the other hand, reports state that Ajay Devgn might play his father.
