Reliance Jio GigaFiber broadband registration to start from August 15: all you need to knowAug 6 (AZINS) The registrations for Reliance Jio GigaFiber broadband will start from August 15. Reliance Industries' chairman Mukesh Ambani at its 41st annual general meeting had announced the launch of the fixed-line broadband service Jio GigaFiber. GigaFiber was previouly known as Jio Fiber. During his address, Chairman Mukesh Ambani informed that Jio's broadband services would be made available in 1,100 cities in India. Jio GigaFiber will come with GigaFiber router along with the Jio GigaTV set-top box. Mukesh Ambani also informed that the set-top box will allow users to make video calls to other GigaTV devices or mobile connections on any network in the country.

Speaking about the GigaFiber, Mukesh Ambani said that the service will provide ultra high definition entertainment on TV, voice activated assistance, virtual reality gaming and digital shopping as well as smart home solutions.

As we mentioned above, the registration will start on August 15. Customers will be able to register for Jio GigaFiber broadband service through the MyJio app. They can also login to Jio.com, to register it online. It should also be noted that there will be no registration amount for a Jio GigaFiber connection.

Listing out the benefits of Jio GigaFiber, Mukesh Ambani said that for the merchants and small businesses, fixed-line broadband will enable fixed-line connectivity with the agility and customer obsession of a small owner-driven business you empower them to compete on level terms with larger businesses.

Meanwhile, to beat competition for Reliance Jio, BSNL has unveiled yet another broadband plan for a price of Rs 995. With this new plan, users will be able to access an FUP limit of 200GB at a speed of 20mbps. At the moment, this plan is available in the Kerala circle, in the Ernakulam SSA region.

Those interested, can avail this plan for Rs 10,945 for a period of one year, Rs 20,898 for a period of two years, and Rs 29,850 for a period of three years respectively.

Recently, BSNL had revamped its fibre to the home (FTTH) plans by increasing its FUP limits by almost four times for four of its broadband in all circles.
