Bhola Shankar OTT release: When, where to watch Chiranjeevi, Tamannaah Bhatia, Keerthy Suresh-starrer action film

Headlined by the Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi, Bhola Shankar was released in the theatres on August 11, 2023, and faced clash with Rajinikanth's Jailer, which hit theaters a day earlier on August 10, and Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 and Akshay Kumar's OMG 2, which were released on the same day, to cash in on the extended Independence Day weekend.

Out of all these four films, Bhola Shankar was the one which performed the worst at the box office and proved to be a disaster. Reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 100 crore, Bhola Shankar earned Rs 30.62 crore net in India and Rs 42.25 crore gross at the global box office.

Now, since audiences didn't go to watch Chiranjeevi-starrer in the theaters, they can watch the film at the comfort of their homes. The streaming release for Bhola Shankar has been announced by the OTT giant Netflix on Sunday, September 10, as it wrote on its social media handles, "Let the celebrations begin because Megastar is back! Bholaa Shankar is coming to Netflix in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi on 15th September! #BholaaShankarOnNetflix".

Apart from Chiranjeevi, Bhola Shankar also stars Tamannaah Bhatia as the 67-year-old actor's love interest, while Keerthy Suresh plays his adopted sister. The film is an official remake of Ajith Kumar's superhit film Vedalam released in 2015. In the original, Shruti Haasan played Ajith's love interest, whereas Lakshmi Menon played his sister.

The latest release marks Meher Ramesh's return to direction after a long wait of ten years. He has previously directed superstars Venkatesh in Shadow (2013), Jr NTR in Shakti (2011) and Kantri (2008), Prabhas in Billa (2009), and the late Puneeth Rajkumar in Veera Kannadiga (2004) and Ajay (2006), and all these action dramas didn't perform exceptionally well at the box office.
