Petrol, diesel prices fall after states further cut VAT - Check fuel rates in your city

The Central government announced excise duty cuts of Rs 5 and Rs 10 on petrol and diesel on the eve of Diwali after which several states announced additional reductions in fuel prices. This brought down petrol and diesel prices in the country from Thursday. Friday further saw a reduction in prices of petrol and diesel.

This comes at a time when petrol and diesel price saw their lifetime high before the Centre and the states announced excise duty cuts.

Controller General of Accounts (CGA) report in the Union Ministry of Finance showed excise duty collections on petrol and diesel during April-September 2021 surged to over Rs 1.71 lakh crore from Rs 1.28 lakh crore mop-up in the same period of the previous fiscal.

Fuel prices today
In Delhi, the petrol price is Rs 103.97 per litre as against Rs 110.04. Diesel rates reduce to Rs 86.67 from Rs 98.42 per litre.

In Mumbai, the petrol price has been cut by Rs 5.87 to Rs 109.98 per litre and diesel by Rs 12.48 to Rs 94.14 per litre.

In Kolkata, petrol price reduced by Rs 5.82 to Rs 104.67 per litre and that of diesel by Rs 11.77 to Rs 89.79 per litre.

Petrol price in Bengaluru is Rs 100.58 per litre and diesel price is Rs 85.01 per litre.

In Hyderabad, the petrol price is Rs 108.20 per litre and the diesel rate is Rs 94.62 per litre.

The petrol price in Lucknow is Rs 95.28 per litre and the diesel rate is Rs 86.80 per litre.

In Noida, the petrol price is Rs 101.29 per litre and the diesel rate is Rs 87.42 a litre.

In Bhopal, the petrol price is Rs 106.86 per litre and the diesel rate is Rs 90.95 a litre.

The petrol price in Chandigarh is Rs 100.12 a litre and the diesel rate is Rs 86.46 a litre.
