India's coronavirus count has crossed the 5.85-lakh mark as more than 18,000 COVID-19 cases were reported over the past 24 hours.  

The country's total number of COVID-19 cases stands at 5,85,493 on Tuesday, with 3,47,979 COVID-19 patients cured so far.  

Maharashtra is the most affected state, followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. A total of 903 new COVID-19 cases and 36 deaths reported in Mumbai on Tuesday, according to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).  

Meanwhile, India's first COVID-19 vaccine COVAXIN developed by Bharat Biotech got the nod for human trials by the Drug Controller General of India on Monday (June 29).  

The central government keeps denying that community transmission is taking place in India.
