U-19 Asia Cup: Tilak Verma and Arjun Azad slam tons as India defeats Pakistan by 60 runs

Top-order batsmen Arjun Azad and NT Tilak Verma scored tons as Team India defeated neighboring rivals Pakistan by 60 runs during the U-19 Asia Cup clash in Moratuwa, Sri Lanka on Saturday.

Batting first, the Blues posted a total of 305/9 after 50 overs thanks to a 183-run second-wicket partnership between Azad (121) and Verma (110).

On the chase, Pakistan did not get off to a good start and kept losing wickets throughout the match and were 245/10 in 46.4 overs.

Rohail Khan (117) and Haris Khan (43) were the only two Pak batsmen who tried to take on the challenge but were dismissed soon after.

Indian bowlers were fantastic with the ball as well with spinner Atharva Ankolekar picking up three wickets for 36 in his 10 overs on the day. Pacers Vidyadhar Patil and Sushant Mishra also picked up two wickets each for India.

Despite Azad and Verma's brilliant performance, the rest of the Indian batsmen were not at all impressive on the day, as non of them managed to go past the individual score of 20.

Pak bowlers Naseem Shah (3/52) and Abbas Afridi (3/72) were the only standout performers with the ball.
