On Tuesday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Congress leader and former Karnataka Minister DK Shivakumar.

He was being grilled in a money-laundering case. DK Shivakumar appeared for the fourth time since last week before the ED on Tuesday morning. The ED has registered a case of money laundering on the basis of chargesheet filed by Income Tax dept. 

DK Shivakumar tweeted: “I congratulate my BJP friends for finally being successful in their mission of arresting me.  The IT and ED cases against me are politically motivated and I am a victim of BJP's politics of vengeance and vendetta. I appeal to my party cadre, supporters and well-wishers to not be disheartened as I have done nothing illegal. I have full faith in God & in our country's Judiciary and am very confident that I will emerge victorious both legally and politically against this vendetta politics.”

Shivakumar was summoned by the ED on Friday. After various attempts to delay, he finally appeared before the ED on Friday when he was grilled for 5 hours.

On Saturday, Monday and Tuesday he was grilled for 8 hours. The money laundering case is in connection with Rs 8 crore being found in his Delhi house during IT raids in 2017.
