Good news: Modi government allows hike in incentives to employees acquiring higher academic qualifications
Mar 20 (AZINS) The Centre has approved the hike in incentives for its employees who would acquire higher academic qualifications while staying in job. Earlier, the government employees acquiring fresh higher qualifications after coming into service were granted incentive in the form of one-time lump-sum amount ranging from Rs 2,000 to Rs 10,000. Now, the amount is being increased to a minimum of Rs 10,000 to a maximum of Rs 30,000.
It should be noted that the incentive shall be allowed only for acquiring higher qualification directly related to the functions of the post held by the employee or to the functions to be performed in the next higher post, the ministry added.
"The incentive shall be limited to maximum two times in an employee’s career, with a minimum gap of two years between successive grants", the minstry said.
There are about 48.41 lakh employees in Central Government office.
