By the grace of Harivayu Gurugalu and 1008 Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji of Sri Puthige Matha Udupi, Sri Venkata Krishna Kshetra Temple (SVK) and Kannada Sangha of Arizona (KSA) together delighted to host the Carnatic music concert “Venkatachala Nilayam” by Sri Vidyabhushana.
Sri Vidyabhushanaru is a highly achieved and decorated singer of devotional songs based on haridasa sahitya. He has melodiously and powerfully rendered many widely known kruthis, including Pillangoviya Cheluva Krishna and Krishnana Kandeera. Furthermore, he is renowned for incorporating the musical technicalities of Carnatic style into dasasahitya and stotras such as Dwadasha Stotra, Dashavatara Stuthi, etc.
A native of Dakshina Kannada District, Sri Vidyabhushanaru has been performing for over 20 years and has traveled to multiple countries to perform. Additionally, he was honored with the prestigious Sangeetha Vidya Nidhi award in 1994 along with a doctorate from Hampi University. To continue the tradition of Carnatic music, Sri Vidyabhushanaru is the founding trustee of “Bhakti Bharati Prathistana,” which conducts many musical events, and he is in the process of constructing Purandarashrama in Bengaluru.
