India v/s England, 2nd ODI: Hosts level series thanks to Joe Root's gritty ton - how it happened

July 15 (AZINS) England defeated India by 86 runs in the second ODI at the Lord's Cricket Ground on Saturday. The hosts leveled the three-match series thanks to a gritty century by middle-order batsman Joe Root (113).

England captain Eoin Morgan won the Toss and surprised many with his decision to bat first. His call, however, proved to be the right one as the hosts got to 322/7 in 50 overs. In reply, India never quite got going and ended up being bowled out for 236 in 50 overs. Pacer Liam Plunket, with a four-wicket haul, was the pick of the bowlers for England.
