4 REASONS to Participate:

Rangoli at Diwali:
Rangoli is originated from two words Rang which means colors and Holi which means celebration. Rangoli is a traditional Indian art form dating back several centuries; in fact, it is said that it can be traced back as far as the Indus valley Civilization. The word "rangoli" derives from Sanskrit, and it means "the expression of artistic vision through the joyful use of color" or "design in color."

1. Win 3 Children's Prizes and 3 Adults Prizes
1st Prize-$75, 2nd Prize-$50, 3rd Prize-$25 There are additional Jewelry prizes also.

2. The purpose of rangoli is decoration, and it is thought to bring good luck.

3.
It is done at the entrance of households or a temple (mandirs) during the festival of light called Diwali, and is hence a welcoming gesture. It also gives that little extra touch of class and beauty. The colorful patterns on the doorsteps are not just for decorative purposes; they embody a deep religious spirit too. They are often dedicated to various deities, for example, Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth and prosperity, or Ganesha the God of good beginnings.

4. The best Rangoli work will be displayed in the Temple during Diwali Mela.

Wishing you a Happy Diwali!
