EXCLUSIVE - 'I think it's a gimmick to make part two': Kajol on sequels and remakes of films
From the past couple of years, Bollywood has given several period films and also it has become an era of sequels. Hit films have been made into the franchise after being loved by the masses. We have seen Golmaal series, Housefull series, Singham series and now the latest Mardaani 2. Moreover, a sequel to Hungama, Dostana and Bunty Aur Babli have also been finalised. But there is one actor who would not like to have her film being made into a franchise or even remade.

Yes, we are talking about Kajol! The talented actor has always been told by fans that they wish to see her in the sequel of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. During a recent Exclusive interaction with DNA Online, when Kajol was asked if there's any film of hers which deserves a sequel, the actor stated, "No, I don't think so. I think that each one of my films was, is in a very way weird and unique. A lot of people have asked me that 'do you want to do a sequel to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge or Kuch Kuch Hota Hai something like that?' I was like, No, you can't even remake these films. I feel like when you make a film and there's a certain magic that is created and you can't remake that magic."

She went on to say, "You just can't and I think it's a gimmick to make a part two. This is again, completely personal opinion no harm meant or no opinion on anybody's sequels that are coming out."

Kajol added, "They are incredible and that's why they cannot be remade or made a second part of. That's why they are unique and then there is a certain magic about them. I think as an actor, also, when you try to recreate things, it's a fail. When you try to recreate yourself, you're caricatured of yourself. So I mean, also as actors, we also have to we have to realize that as well, somewhere, work around it."

Meanwhile, Kajol is gearing up for the release of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.
