Fans furious with Disney for excluding Robert Downey Jr from 'Avengers Endgame Oscars campaign'
Disney and Marvel recently announced their consideration for 2019 Oscar campaign. The makers of Avengers Endgame have named several crew members for categories like Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay award and more. One name that fans were waiting for, was Robert Downey Jr, but the actor has been left out in the Oscars campaign for Avengers Endgame.

Avengers Endgame became the highest-grossing movie of all time and also surpasses the previous record-holder Avatar. The film is being pushed in 12 different categories including Best Picture, but Best Actor isn't one of them. Marvel fans took to their social media to diss the campaign when they didn't see Robert on the list. Robert played Iron Man in the superhero franchise and had the biggest impact on the MCU.

The list included names like directors Anthony and Joe Russo, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and more. Earlier the makers had also said how they cared about Robert's consideration for Best Actor in Oscars, but the production house has not pushed his name this year.

The list mainly consists of the technical categories. According to ComicBook.com, the production this year wishes to focus on categories such as Best Cinematography, Visual Effects, Film Editing, Original Score, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director and Best Picture. Marvel Studios last year scored its first Best Picture nomination for the superhero film, Black Panther.

Fans took to their social media to express disdain for the studio's decision. Some went on to say he deserved an Oscar nomination.

Robert was previously nominated for Best Supporting Actor in 2009 which he lost to Heath Ledger for his performance as Joker in The Dark Knight.
